State of Mind,  Acrylic on Glass,  15" Diameter, 2009

State of Mind - Primary colors of this painting are deep forest greens, lighter sage-like greens, and hay colored browns. The top half of the circular surface shows brown vertical trunk-like, inch thick forms with loose, thick oval brush strokes in the various green shades creating a dense forest atmosphere. Below is a hay-like beige color, with bits and scratches in it forming what resembles a ground. Toward the center of this ground area, beneath the tree-like forms lies a long white rod with red a red tip and a black tip, resembling a white cane for the visually impaired.
