Understanding,  Acrylic on Glass,  15" Diameter, 2009

Understanding - Circular surface. Silvery vertical stripes suggest bars, over a gray brown background color. There are two layers of these bars, and one painted on the back of the glass, the other on the front. The front layer bars are bent open. Behind these bars is an eye, looking uncertain: the lines bordering the eye are thin, the circle in its center is smaller than the almond-shaped border, and the lower border is rounded, while the top is more of a straight horizontal line.
